Ezee Pzee Reveal - February

Welcome to the Ezee Pzee Dezign team Reveal for February.

We were sent the Ezee Pzee birdhouse kit along with some little extras like butterflies and flowers. Take a boo at what I created with this wonderful product then head on over to the Dezign Teams blogs and check out their wonderful creations as well!!!

So for me it was again a combination of two products.. Ezee Pzee and Ranger.

I didn’t take step pictures this time but I will give you a brief run down of what I did do!

So let’s begin.

For the building of the bird house I ran the pieces through my Big Kick Machine using Tim's embossing folders to give them definition. The roof panels went through the brick folder and the sides and front/back panels through using the woodgrain folder. Now as much as i loved how they turned out I figured they needed a little something extra. So out came Claudine Hellmuths GESSO!!!

What is a bird house with a post really.. what could I use for that…. well i did have that empty ribbon holder on the table.. hmm.. that will make a nice post i'd think. just add a bit of Tim paper to the top and bottom, a little bit of color wash (okay a lot!) and tada a post.

And what is a bird house with out a weathervane!!! I used Distress Embossing Powders and embossing ink to colour the bird, alcohol ink for the holder. A bit of glossy accents to hold it all together. LOVE IT!!!

So what should i sit the post on well a box of course!!! Out came the box and it too was covered in GESSO and sprayed with a bit of color wash.

Okay well the box couldn't just be a box; what a perfect place to plant some flowers!! I color washed the flowers, added a bit of bling and planted them in the tissue paper (which was sprayed with color was) on top of the box! For the gate around the top I used the extra pieces of Ezee Pzee product that I had laying around from the outside of their photo strip.. made a nice fence!!

Okay so the box was empty and that just isn’t right so I decided to make a mini album to put inside.. oh my mind wanted to add more and more and more but time just wouldn't allow.

The mini is filled with pictures of my first meeting with Tim and Mario!!! A very special day for me!!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.. don’t forget to go check out the rest of the dezign team reveal!!!

Til next time…

I am beyond excited..

i just purchased tickets to Melissa Etheridge!!!! She is touring again!!!!! and she is coming to Moncton, NB!!!! and it just happens to be the only night i could see her!!! Here is a little write up from her website:

Fearless Love expands on the multiple strengths that have made Etheridge one of the most beloved figures in rock. It follows The Awakening, her revealing album of 2007, with a rousing tone at once tough and tender, as only she can be. It is that force of presence which has earned her, among other accolades, the 2007 Academy Award for Best Original Song, two Grammy Awards, and a Juno Award for Best International Artist.

Etheridge will be joined on the tour by special guest, 3 time Juno Award winner, Serena Ryder. Currently working on her follow up to her previous gold-selling records, If Your Memory Serves You Well and is it o.k, Serena is anxious to get back on the road and test out new material as well as play selections from her previous bodies of work including her latest EP release, Serena & The Beauties available in vinyl and online.

I just had to share!!!!!
i hope they allow cameras... i can't imagine scrapping this event in my life but i would sure give it a try!!

til next time my friends...

February Inspiration Team Reveal at APOS!

So for this month over at APOS!we were given a plain canvas apron and asked to spin our magic!

at first i thought what in heck am i to do with an apron!! how do i go about decorating it? Alissa (the owner of the store who i love to refer to as my 'dealer') suggested i visit Donna Downey's site and see what she has created.
Well i did and though i like her stuff but it really isn't my style or the kind of thing i would create.
So then i thought why not look at it as a large canvas, make it into a piece of art. make it something that says Diana's style.
okay i said to myself what would be the first thing a great artist would do, well cover it with GESSO of course and then what.. well let us add a bit of Tim to it... oh and some funky flowers... and finally i found a place to put those wonderful dodad's i had purchased eons ago!!!
i added a bit of ribbon which i had stamped with script and some staz-on ink, glimmermisted the heck out of and then layered it with some crinoline and some tulle and i sewed!!! i haven't used a sewing machine in forever!!!! the brads that were included in our inspiration team package were a little too pink for me so what did i use to diminish the pink, a little bit of alcohol ink!!!!
and what project would be finished really with out a bit of grunge!!!!  i ran the grungepaper through the tattered floral die cut and then the swirls embossing folder and then distressed with some ink and finished off with a bit of glimmermist!!

and TADA!!!! my very first of many designer aprons. i printed off and altered a bit the Ranger logo and printed it off on to a piece of sticky back canvas.. i am such a RangerU wannabe!!!!! the stamp on the tim tag is a Studio 490 stamp; it too is printed on to sticky back canvas

i think that is it. thanks for stopping by and taking a peak
til next time...

Heidi Swapp - Fastenation Folder Class

Well this happened to be a  very VERY busy evening for the lovely ladies who joined me in the Glimmer mist album class featuring the Heidi Swapp Fastenation Folder and inserts. We sort of ran out of time so i told them i would post pics of my finished album for them to see. If any of you have ANY questions please just leave me a message and i will get back to you as fast as i can.

We used many techniques, some technical some not so much!! and lots of Glimmermist (i think the class favorite ended up being Fully Purple) We had used colors from the mini kits Winter Wishes and Sundance .. LOVE THEM!!!

Sticky back canvas was used to create the beautiful flower on the first page of this album!! As well the same die was used to create the grungeflowers on the cover; Tattered Florals
how did we make these circles.. why with a Starbucks cup of course!!!
